Loans Collection Specialist, Tucson, Arizona
Edgewater Financial Services is
seeking motivated, resourceful, high integrity
professional collectors. Experience preferred, but will
train the right individuals. Ideal candidates are team
players with strong communication and problem-solving
skills and a positive attitude.
Candidates must be able to
commit to the shift schedule and pass a background check
and drug and alcohol test.
Shift schedule would be two to
three morning shifts per week, two to three evening
shifts per week, and every other Saturday.
Hours of operation are: Monday
through Thursday - 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday 5 a.m. to 8
p.m., Saturday 5 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Responsibilities
-
Perform collection
activities on defaulted student loan debt
-
Strictly ensure compliance
with all federal regulations, including Fair Debt
Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), and maintain
compliance with any governing state and federal laws
throughout employment
-
Learn and be continually
familiar with the programs offered to borrowers of
student loans
-
Employ effective
skip-tracing techniques to locate borrowers’ current
residence and employment information
-
Be able to communicate in a
clear and concise manner with defaulted student loan
borrowers via telephone in order to obtain repayment
in full, or to establish acceptable payment
arrangements.

Guide, problem-solve, and
negotiate with confidence
-
Assist borrowers in
qualifying for rehabilitation of the loan.

Negotiate balance-in-full
payments, payment arrangements, or legal referrals.

Know the priority order of
possible debt resolutions.

Resolve issues of a
non-routine nature, as necessary.

Maintain the highest level
of accuracy and detail when documenting accounts and
communicating with borrowers

Review accounts and schedule
contact dates for follow-up calls

Follow-up with borrowers to
ensure promises are kept
-
Meet or exceed all daily,
weekly and monthly quality and collection goals
Minimum Requirements
-
Willing to submit to drug
and alcohol tests and background screening

Applicant must be in good
standing with Federal Student Loans

High school diploma or
equivalent
-
Ability to commit to shift
hours
Qualifications

Preferably one to five years
of previous collection, sales or customer-service
experience

Must be results-oriented

Ability to work
independently while also being a team player

Excellent verbal
communication skills, effective telephone techniques
and ability to be firm, direct, and concise, while
maintaining a professional manner at all times

Excellent organizational
skills and attention to detail

Working knowledge of modern

record actions taken on accounts
